Production Blog: The Finale

 Filming Blog


Today was our last day of filming and everyone made it today. We filmed on 12/10/21 at my house after getting Ethan's mom to drop us off. After we got to my house, we dropped our stuff off and got started on recording. We only had 2 and a half scenes to create. We finished the 10th scene by eventually making the chasing scene end with Jason being chased at and me catching up to him. In the 11th scene, the chase continued until Jason couldn't go on anymore and looked back. This was the hardest scene because Ethan was behind Jason and we couldn't get the timing right for the entire scene. So the solution was I had to stand farther back while walking. Then we decided to let Sebastian get in the video just to have him do something. I personally didn't want Sebastian in the music video because it made no sense for the context, but Ethan was basically the producer and said it adds to the mystery. So for scene 12, we made Sebastian and I walk up to Jason while clenching my fists. This filming session took an hour to complete.


Editing Blog


When editing, we decided to change the beginning to include a black and white intro while it fades into color. This was a change to represent a dark nature in the video that was soon to happen. After this, we used Jason's laptop to edit in the new parts that we recorded. With the ending being a mystery and no real ending to the story, we decided to make everything fade to black for a few seconds.  Overall there were many mysteries found in our video because we left it to the viewer to decide what happens. Mysteries such as why did I sleep on a tree? Why did Jason come after my briefcase? Why did Sebastian come out of no where?

 September 27th          Chad Johnson Our group that consists of Jason, Sebastian, and I will feature the Nintendo Switch and all its features. Now our commercial will start with the iconic nintendo switch intro. This is found on all of nintendo switch's commercial intros. It lasts around 2 seconds so this will not take up any filming time that we need. The next panel is where we look at the nintendo switch game menu. This menu will have to showcase to the viewer what the games you can play. In this scene, we will also be entering a game and showing small gameplay. This scene can also show a game being played and what to do which is promoting both the console and the game. The Final Blog

 In our group consisting of Chad, Jason, and Sebastian, we'd say we did a great job. We have many scenes which has deviated from the original storyboard. The thing is, we created new ideas mid filming, which cause us to make a better commercial than planned. Next we have the filming, with only 2 real shots and the rest being in-game shots. These in-game shots combined with the perfect editing Jason did for each made this video great. The editing had clean transitions, music syncs, and much more than can appeal to all audiences. It almost seemed like a compilation of clips with an actual trailer to back it up. The first clips show Sebastian and Chad sitting next to each other playing their switches. This is the start of the story, as they're both playing around having a good time. The final scenes are with the Nintendo Switch being used, then put away for the day.  September 22nd               Chad Johnson This day was by far one of the worst days of the week for me. I had to dress up into a dress shirt with a tie and long pants. I had to wear this because I had a football game I had to go to today. The thing about this football game was since I just joined the team, I haven't had enough practices to play yet. So I dressed up and went to school and had a normal day. Out of embarrassment of wearing a dress shirt and tie, I decided to wear a jacket over my shirt the whole day. I was sweating so badly the whole day and it was just a mess. So once school ended, I had to go to the SGA meeting to run for representative. My mom told me to run for the college credit, so I went along with it because the game was at 6:30. So I was in the meeting, and then I get a phone call from my teammate telling me that I needed to come to the locker room. So I had to leave the meeting early and I saw no one else was wearing ...
