Editing Blog: Tying up loose ends

Image
We left off with our video only having the video clips all in the right order. We had to finish the video today with everything needed. So first we put in the music that we got. We got the music from Jamie Christopherson and the music fit perfectly into our video. The next thing we had to do was the voiceovers for the video. When recording outside, many of the sounds from others talking, wind, or sounds in general made our voices seem low. Even we couldn't hear ourselves while watching. We tried to go record again so we could hear our voices but it didn't work. We knew the only thing we could do to make our voices be heard is to do a voiceover of the lines. So we recorded our lines of dialogue and put them in the video in the required places. We did not voiceover all the scenes because some of them were alright or quiet. At this point the audio was put in with the voice lines and the music. We made sure to not put the music too loud so we could hear the voices. We also finished

Editing blog: Working Together

Me and Jason started a call so we could both work on the editing process. First, we needed to find a editing software that was perfect for this video. We both decided to use the editing software called CapCut, because we were the most familiar with it. So we got working with the project by getting all the clips we recorded. Ethan sent them over to Jason and he added the clips in the project. Since Jason and I weren't together in person, i had to direct him over call. He asked for me to call him because he was cobfused on what he had to do. Thankfully I helped him and guided him on every step. Once we put the clips together, we had to trim them to make them shorter. We did this because the video was long than 2 minutes which was the required amount. The other reason for trimming the clips was because they contained content that was not for the video. This included a celebretory speech, laughing at the end, asking if that was right, and more. After we finished putting the video toge

Music Blog

In order to get the music pieces for the video, I emailed Jamie Christopherson for the licensing rights of the songs. The first song I chose is called "Carnival of Delights" and is a suspense piece of music. This piece of music, as you can tell from the name, is meant to be a horror version of a circus. Although our team and I knew this, we figured that we could make this song work for our video. It starts off with a catchy theme that makes it seem that something is off. It makes it seem like the character we are now seeing isn't exactly a good person. The truth is that he isn't, or wasn't. As the music grows louder and louder it brings more tension to the scene and makes everything seem serious from this point on. It then tones down and fades away leading to conflict point that Drake must go to. Our second song is called "Zero Gravity" which is an action piece. This piece of music is meant to show the conflict in action and make the scene even more ser

Filming blog: The Final Showdown

On Saturday March 12th, our entire team went out to film the rest of our scenes we didn't finish the first recording session. This time, we had everyone here, and since we had already finished most of the scenes already, it was time to finish the project. This time, we had Ethan pick up everyone at their houses and it was a long time as it took over an hour to get everyone. Once we did pick everyone up though, we immediately went to holiday park so we could properly film. I had also brought 3 swords this time instead of 1 because I knew that we were all going to use them. When we got there, we saw that our original filming spot was being taken to watch a girls soccer game. We debated about waiting or finding another spot, but after finding out it had just started we decided to find another spot. This time we chose the spot of an empty soccer field where we could film. We decided to start from the scene where Joker says "After him, Ren, Akira!" then showed Ethan and Sebas

In search of some music to find, I looked around for multiple composers to ask. I thought of this one composer who made one of my favorite songs and decided to text him on Instagram. His name was Jamie Christopherson and he creates many instrumental pieces of music which I figured would be perfect for our video. I wasn't sure if he would answer or not but I asked anyways because he was my last hope. Once I texted him on instagram asking for the specific song, unfortunately he did not own the rights to the song I wanted. I was caught in a bit of devastation because I thought that this would be easier but it seemed to be a challenge. I immediately thought of other sources that I could get my music from but I thought we might have had to rely on royalty free music in the end. Luckily, Mr. Christopherson said that he would send our team a library full of his songs that we could work with. He gave me his email for more convenience of communication. There were over 50 songs to choose fro

Filming Blog: Encounter

In order to first get to our filming location, I had to come over to Ethan's house early in the morning on Saturday. I had to bring one of our prop swords  Once I got there, we waited until 1 P.M to pick up Jason so we could film together. Unfortunately, Sebastian could not come with us to film because he was sick at the time and couldn't get out the bed. Once we drove to Holiday Park, we found a secure location where no one would be in sight and begun. It started off with me just walking, to signify me monologuing. This meant that I walked in silence so we could record our voice overs later. Once my phone "rang" I picked it up and started to have a conversation with Joker, but by myself. Jason also needed to record voiceover lines for the phone call. We are planning to record them with Ethan's Iphone 13 because it has the best quality, but we forgot to record them so we will do it next time we go out. During the phone call, there will be a girl's voice sayin
