Hope you enjoy my CCR! I put a lot of effort into this!

Final Task

This video took a lot out of my group. There was so much that we had to do and so many problems occured that there was nothing we could do for some of them. Even with all those issues, I honestly think that this is the best video we made yet. Although I can see the plot issues and mistakes we made, this video is the child of our hard work. This may not be the best there is, but I am proud of this video. So I think that to the viewer, instead of watching the video to judge, watch the video to enjoy. So thank you to all who helped us. Thank you group mates who I couldn't have done this without. And thank you, for enjoying the show.

Editing Software's Blog

Image
We used three editing software's during the production of this video. The first one we used was called Capcut. This was used to help link the clips together for the video. This made the whole video for us and all we had to do was put it in. This software also helped trim many of the clips needed for our video. If we didn't have the ability to trim, we would have a 3 minute long video. This software is undoubtedly the most important software that we had to use. Without this easy to use software, we probably couldn't complete this video because all the rest are priced or on laptop. This software allowed us to do it on our phones meaning we could edit anytime we wanted. The next software we used was called Bandlab which helped with the audio part of the video. This helped with making the audio we spoke louder. We also could add sound effects to our video. So much audio that we couldn't add with capcut made this editing software required for our video. Our last editing sof...

Changes made from film review

Image
After Mark did the film review for us, we decided we had to make some changes to our video in order to make sure it is fit to be the best it can be. The first thing we changed were the voices in our video. We decided to edit the audio so that everytime we speak, we put it into a new track. We started using an app called Bandlab in order to fix the audio. This helps alot with adding the audio, putting effects, lowering and raising volume, putting filters, and many other things. When putting the audio on a different track, we made it louder. This made it so we can actually hear the audio. Since we couldn't go out to film, we worked on audio. The only thing that we actually could work on is audio. This made it hard to fix all of Mark's problems. We still tried our best to make things right though. Although it was hard and rigorous, we fought with everything we had. Our battle was fierce and upsetting, but in the end we won. This video is the reason that we have struggled so far an...

Filming Blog: Our Destinations True End

Image
When editing the video, we dound out there was a problem with some of the footage. Most of it was just filler content that made no sense. Me and Jason decided that we honestly had no other choice than to go back out to record. This was a good oppurtunity to fix what the peer reviewer had problems with the video. So we got Ethan and went back out to film. We cut out the filler content out and were left with around 30 seconds left to film. So we discussed what we were gonna do. If we redid the other scenes but longer, it would just be filler. I proposed the idea that we focus on adding onto the video. This was risky because it would not be featured on the script or storyboard. But we figured it was a risk we had to take. We got out there and continued from where me and Jason clashed. Once we clashed, we jumped back to get space. Then, Jason saw Ethan's sword and decided to dual wield. Then Jason rushed at me while dual wielding and attacked me. I guarded 3 of his attacks because he ...

Peer Film Review

Image
The one who wrote the criticisms for our video was a junior named Mark. Mark is an aspiring rapper and has made many songs already. I wanted to ask Mark to make a criticism for our video because I thought that he would have the most unbiased opinion. So me and Jason asked Mark if he could watch and review our video. At first after the first time he watched it, he laughed which was fine because I would have done the same thing. After he finished laughing he watched it again and started criticizing. He said many things like I felt the overall emotion in the battles. The suspenseful moments caught my eye quite quickly upon only just now seeing the characters. The angles were thought out carefully and executed in the right way. The sound effects were relatively as close as possible as can be. The facial expressions gradually shifted all throughout the film. The first 21 seconds of walking took too long. The voices were too low to a certain extent. The scenery was rather bright and didn...

Editing Blog: Tying up loose ends

Image
We left off with our video only having the video clips all in the right order. We had to finish the video today with everything needed. So first we put in the music that we got. We got the music from Jamie Christopherson and the music fit perfectly into our video. The next thing we had to do was the voiceovers for the video. When recording outside, many of the sounds from others talking, wind, or sounds in general made our voices seem low. Even we couldn't hear ourselves while watching. We tried to go record again so we could hear our voices but it didn't work. We knew the only thing we could do to make our voices be heard is to do a voiceover of the lines. So we recorded our lines of dialogue and put them in the video in the required places. We did not voiceover all the scenes because some of them were alright or quiet. At this point the audio was put in with the voice lines and the music. We made sure to not put the music too loud so we could hear the voices. We also finished...

Editing blog: Working Together

Image
Me and Jason started a call so we could both work on the editing process. First, we needed to find a editing software that was perfect for this video. We both decided to use the editing software called CapCut, because we were the most familiar with it. So we got working with the project by getting all the clips we recorded. Ethan sent them over to Jason and he added the clips in the project. Since Jason and I weren't together in person, i had to direct him over call. He asked for me to call him because he was cobfused on what he had to do. Thankfully I helped him and guided him on every step. Once we put the clips together, we had to trim them to make them shorter. We did this because the video was long than 2 minutes which was the required amount. The other reason for trimming the clips was because they contained content that was not for the video. This included a celebretory speech, laughing at the end, asking if that was right, and more. After we finished putting the video toge...

Music Blog

Image
In order to get the music pieces for the video, I emailed Jamie Christopherson for the licensing rights of the songs. The first song I chose is called "Carnival of Delights" and is a suspense piece of music. This piece of music, as you can tell from the name, is meant to be a horror version of a circus. Although our team and I knew this, we figured that we could make this song work for our video. It starts off with a catchy theme that makes it seem that something is off. It makes it seem like the character we are now seeing isn't exactly a good person. The truth is that he isn't, or wasn't. As the music grows louder and louder it brings more tension to the scene and makes everything seem serious from this point on. It then tones down and fades away leading to conflict point that Drake must go to. Our second song is called "Zero Gravity" which is an action piece. This piece of music is meant to show the conflict in action and make the scene even more ser...

Filming blog: The Final Showdown

Image
On Saturday March 12th, our entire team went out to film the rest of our scenes we didn't finish the first recording session. This time, we had everyone here, and since we had already finished most of the scenes already, it was time to finish the project. This time, we had Ethan pick up everyone at their houses and it was a long time as it took over an hour to get everyone. Once we did pick everyone up though, we immediately went to holiday park so we could properly film. I had also brought 3 swords this time instead of 1 because I knew that we were all going to use them. When we got there, we saw that our original filming spot was being taken to watch a girls soccer game. We debated about waiting or finding another spot, but after finding out it had just started we decided to find another spot. This time we chose the spot of an empty soccer field where we could film. We decided to start from the scene where Joker says "After him, Ren, Akira!" then showed Ethan and Sebas...

Obtaining Music Production Blog

Image
In search of some music to find, I looked around for multiple composers to ask. I thought of this one composer who made one of my favorite songs and decided to text him on Instagram. His name was Jamie Christopherson and he creates many instrumental pieces of music which I figured would be perfect for our video. I wasn't sure if he would answer or not but I asked anyways because he was my last hope. Once I texted him on instagram asking for the specific song, unfortunately he did not own the rights to the song I wanted. I was caught in a bit of devastation because I thought that this would be easier but it seemed to be a challenge. I immediately thought of other sources that I could get my music from but I thought we might have had to rely on royalty free music in the end. Luckily, Mr. Christopherson said that he would send our team a library full of his songs that we could work with. He gave me his email for more convenience of communication. There were over 50 songs to choose fro...

Filming Blog: Encounter

Image
In order to first get to our filming location, I had to come over to Ethan's house early in the morning on Saturday. I had to bring one of our prop swords  Once I got there, we waited until 1 P.M to pick up Jason so we could film together. Unfortunately, Sebastian could not come with us to film because he was sick at the time and couldn't get out the bed. Once we drove to Holiday Park, we found a secure location where no one would be in sight and begun. It started off with me just walking, to signify me monologuing. This meant that I walked in silence so we could record our voice overs later. Once my phone "rang" I picked it up and started to have a conversation with Joker, but by myself. Jason also needed to record voiceover lines for the phone call. We are planning to record them with Ethan's Iphone 13 because it has the best quality, but we forgot to record them so we will do it next time we go out. During the phone call, there will be a girl's voice sayin...

This way if we accidentally whack each other, the impact wouldn't hurt anybody as badly. Another solution that we considered was attacking with the swords very slowly, then editing the footage to make it look faster. This way, there would be no way to injure anybody while swing the swords. In order to make sure we don't hit anybody else who are bystanders, we plan to record secluded from others so they couldn't be in the background or get caught in an accident. In the worse case scenario, we will place 2 of our phones down in a secure place to be ready to call the police in case someone gets hurt. Schedule 3/4-3/6: We pl...
